Polar Bears Rule!

I need to get some sleep so I can coherantly finish my column and get it to you today (you're gonna want it). But before I do, how about some good ol' "stupid people vs. animals"?

In my opinion, people who get too close to the cages at the zoo get what's coming to them. Don't worry: nobody dies, but check out the helpful guy in the background. I wish I could make inciteful comments like that.

I think zoo employees should be allowed to tranquilize any visitor going over a railing or fence to get to the animal cages. As well, electrifying the fences and railings to prevent nitwits like this from approching the animals.

There's a book, The Life Of Pi by Yann Martel, which talks a great deal about animal behavior and zoos, specifically that even the smallest and least carnivorous of animals can, when something new or strange is introduced into their environments, react violently.

I'm sure the folks in the video felt that beating the bear's head with sticks was the best way to help the woman. Better, I think to have beat the woman with a stick when she first put her foot up on the railing.
