P.O.D. - Sexy Gangster Shoes

Even I think these are kinda cool. Thanks to Jadriana for the pic.

She ain't heavy, she's my _______

Got in a discussion w/ a friend the other day about whether someone with this body type is "heavy." I'll readily admit she's not petite, but heavy? You must be kidding me. Since when did curves make someone heavy?

True of False: if everyone in FASHION was put to the sword and we started over...would Women be better or Worse off?

[And so I don't have a suspicious mob, I found the picture on the Internet to illustrate the body type I was talking about. I even hotlinked the girl just to prove it. (Does "hotlinked the girl" sound dirty? No? Just me, then.)]

Make the Girl Dance (Baby Baby Baby)

Maybe I'm being too hard on the French. After all, they are trying to think "Outside the Box" in their Music Videos.

(Sadly, Sadly, Sadly this video is Safe for Work, but you might not want to watch it when other people are around.)

(I very much recommend the HD if you computer will support it. Some things need to be CRYSTAL clear)

Cool Fashion Video

I'm not sure what (if anything) this video is supposed to have to do with the Olsen Twins. Maybe they are affiliated with the Clothing Label some how. I don't really care. I share because the video itself is really damn cool!

Emma Thompson to the rescue

You know, my friends, there was a time (and I call this time "1993) when I was in love with Emma Thompson. No longer does the flame of passion burn through my soul, but I am still quite fond of her.

This clip, from the Cesars (France's version of The Oscars), shows why. (You only need to watch about the first 1:45 or so.)

There is one more piece of information to this story but I will put that in the comments so as to not spoil the surprise.

2008 Golden Globes Fashion Picks

I was very disappointed with the fashion choices made by the stars for last Sunday's Golden Globe awards. I tried to come up with 10 favourites but I just couldn't do it. There weren't 10 decent dresses in the bunch. Shame, shame Hollywood. I hope you get it together for the Oscars!

So until then, I give you my top 4 fashion picks for this years Golden Globe Awards .

4. Eva Longoria was a red hot hottie in this Reem Arca gown.

3. I was pleasantly surprised with Sandra Bullock's Christian Dior white gown. She looked amazing.

2. Laura Linney was the lovely in her pale yellow Ellie Saab gown.

1. The night belonged to Kate Winslet, both in awards and in fashion. Her Yves St. Laurent gown was classic, elegant and graceful. Just like Kate.

P.O.D. - Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston is on the January cover of GQ.

I seem to recall she was on the cover of GQ once before.

If Brad and Angelina have any more kids, Jen might make it to Playboy yet.

Gifts for Gals

Yesterday I posted some gifts for guys; today I have some for you lovely ladies.

From the world of coiture, Wal-Mart has a Bubble Coat for only $12. This is perhaps the most amazing deal I've ever seen. It's labled as "juniors," but according to the reviews that's inccorect; the coats are quite large and roomy. I love this purple, but there is also black. Don't thank me now.

Continuing our Fashion Phalanx, Macy's is offering Cashmere Sweaters (normall 110-130 dollars), for $60. I have never owned a cashmere anything, but chicks like this, right? The above link is V-neck, but there is also shawl-collar, turtle neck and boat neck, for those so inclined. (I had some trouble with the specific links; if you do too, use the first link and just click on women, then sweaters, then scroll down.)

Shifting gears slightly, we have the Snuggie. Basically it's a blanket with sleeves, since chicks always seem to be cold. I refuse to write anything else about this. Watch the damn video, you big babies.

Speaking of babies......

So, I was talking to someone last night, and somehow the subject of babydoll lingerie came up. (And what do you talk to you grandma about?) I got led to this "plus size" website called HipsAndCurves.com. First of all, I continue my outrage at Big Fashion. What the F**k, people?

There's nothing wrong with a big girl; I myself could flatten a house. But these girls are not what I would call plus anything. They're normal-sized. I cannot imagine that straight men make these decisions, since straight men tend to like regular-sized women. You know, with hips and curves. Therefore, I lay the blame at the feet of Straight Women and Gaydom.

Clean up your act, Fashionistas! Quit trying to relabel the queens! (There are some great babydolls here, by the way, for perfectly normal girls. If you happen to buy one, the least you could do is send me a picture of you in said garment.

Up next: cool gadgetry for men, women, boys or girls. (But not haters who decide on fashion.)

Fashionably Marge

I ran into these pictures while I was compiling the Simpsons list (running over on the home page), and while they didn't fit into my list, I thought they needed to be shared.

Daily Lynx - Election Day Distractions

My Friends, do you need some totally awesome lynx to distract you from the never-ending political coverage today? Do you need the Lynx to "clean up" politics (and thus justify my racy picture above?) Do we dare?

Yes we can!

(There: that got both candidates a plug, without showing favoritism.)

These Lynx will blow you away with the awesome, so be careful.

1. From the World of Eastern Cinema, we have 50 Stunning Asian Movie Posters. Most of these far and away crush the American ones, and they convince me we need to demand more in a movie poster! I stole one, just to give you an idea:

Just judging the posters (and not the movies), my favorite one was for WHISPERING CORRIDORS 4, although you have to love the pterodactyl in LEGENDS OF DINOSAURS AND MONSTER BIRDS. What's your favorite?

2. Here is something kind of cool, or maybe completely creepy: the NOTABLE NAMES DATABASE. They are aiming to track every notable person in the world. Now, before you shout "Big Brother!" you should there: there is far less here than on a Wikipedia page. Mostly just the Who's Who outline. But here's the cool part: the site has a "Mapper" that lets you track how famous people are connected, sort of a Kevin Bacon thing. I went from Barbara Walters to Joseph McCarthy in two steps!

3. In honor of the spectacular Simpsons Halloween special Sunday (which you can watch now at imdb.com), I present What Charlie Brown characters would look like as Anime. I will snag one to give you a peek:

Good grief, huh!

4. Here is one for your wordnerds: The Un-Dictionary. You can submit words that SHOULD BE words. This is something Hyperion has been way ahead of for years. Maybe I will submit all mine. Either that or start my own Hyperictionary. (By the way: my link takes you directly to "Sapiosexuality;" definitely a passion of mine.)

5. For my Sexy Feminist Bitches, I found a slide show of How Successful Women Dressed Through the Decades. It's pretty amazing. I snagged the 1920s to get you started:

How cool was that? My favorite is the '50s, if only because the bras are so fantastic. What's yours?

[By the way: Hyperion is an ACTUAL FEMINIST, not a FRAUD FEMINIST, which means he believes most women are way tougher than they've been portrayed by the EVIL FRAUDULENT SELF-APPOINTED SELF-RIGHTEOUS leaders of the Women's Movement, which means he knows actual it's actually a sign of respect to jokingly call women bitches the same way he might call his male friends bastards, and he knows the word itself does not set back the cause of women in the slightest, but the overreaction and PC culture some would create surely does. And now I'll get off the soapbox.]

6. Just in case you need a little bit of politics, check out this great side-by-side look at the Electoral Map all the way back to George Washington. I spent an hour pouring over this thing, and I knew most of it! Great stuff.

7. I give you this link, of Hispanics Breaking for McCain, only because a friend of mine did it. He was just trying to get a rise out of people on Digg, but it serves as a great lesson to us all: what we read on the net, what we hear "reported" on the news isn't necessarily true. Beware stats my friends. Beware.

8. Finally, if you're tired of politicians who just don't deserve your trust, I urge you to fall in love with Hazel McCallion, the non-partisan mayor of Mississauga, Ontario.

Read her Wikipedia page: Hazel is an amazing woman. In 2005 Hazel came in second in the World Mayor Award to Dora Bakoyannis of Athens, Greece. I'm sure Dora is the Cat's Pajamas and all that, but I smell a French judge somewhere screwing over the Canucks again. In a time when partisanship makes everyone into enemies, Hazel has been a popular mayor for 30 years, and usually runs unopposed. She gets stuff for her city that the gigantic Toronto can only dream of, because she rocks. Nice to have someone to believe in, even if they are igloo dwellers.

Dragon's 2008 Emmy Dresses

This year's Emmy Awards were a bit of a bore but the fashion almost made up for it. Almost.

Here are my picks for the Best of the Best.

10. Mariska Hargitay was stunning in her yellow Carolina_Herrera gown.

9. I'm not usually a fan of Nicollette Sheridan's fashion sense but she got it right this time in her royal blue Angel Sanchez gown.

8. Marcia Cross went old Hollywood with this gorgeous Elie Saab ankle length dress.

7. Julia Louis-Dreyfus was red HOT in this gorgeous Narcisco Rodriguez number.

6. Kyra Sedgwick always turns heads but she was especially stunning in this bejewelled L'Wren Scott cocktail dress.

5. Kate Walsh never looked better in this sexy and snug Zuhair Murad gown.

4. Heidi Klum wore several gowns on Sunday night but this Armani Prive metallic gown was my favourite by far.

3. America Ferrara was adorable in this vintage black strapless gown.

2. Brooke Sheilds a fashion queen? Who knew! I loved, LOVED, this Badgley Mischka gown.

1. Oliva Wilde stole the red carpet in my favourte gown of the night. This Reem Acra dress was perfection and Ms. Wilde wore it well.

Cannes 2008 Fashion

What a sexy Pirate wants, a sexy Pirate gets....

Dragon's Picks for the best fashions of Cannes 2008

6. Cate Blanchett was a stunner in this Armani Prive gown for the opening of the newest Indian Jones movie. Best looking villian ever. Ever!

5. Angelina Jolie - I love the colour of this Max Azria Atelier gown. And you can always count on Angelina to wear the best accessories on her arm. Mmm, Brad looks yummy. I wonder if I can get him in my size?

4. Bar Refaeli - This Israeli model turned a lot of heads with her lilac Alberta Ferretti gown. The gown cost $700,000 and was studded with diamonds around the neckline and bodice. I bet you thought those men in dark suits around her were guarding just her body.

3. Eva Longoria showed us why she's becoming a queen on the red carpet in this amazing blue Versace gown.

2. Penelope Cruz - I've said it before, she never disappoints me. This white Marchesa gown shows off her sexy back and shoulders beautifully.

1. Cate Blanchett - I simple LOVE this blush Armani Prive. It is a work of art and Cate looks like a goddess in it.

What do you think of my picks? Agree/Disagree?

Cannes I be awesome like Cate?

Might I suggest that Dragon also review the fashion at Cannes? From what I've seen, looks good!
As one example, for the Barn Overlord's pleasure, I present...Cate Blanchett.
