It was on this date 13 years ago that Prince changed his name to
and after that was known for seven years as either "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince," "TAFKAP," "The Artist," or what my friends and I liked to dub "Symbol Boy."
There's no doubt he's one strange duck, but Prince has also produced some of the greatest hits of the last twenty years (and when you see how many he wrote for other artists, it becomes truly staggering.)
