I think some of the comments miss the point. The question isn't, "which device could you multi-function" the best, but would you rather give up television shows or the internet/computer processing. Add movies to the mix (at least videos), and now what's your answer?
Leave it to Hypey to tell us how to interpret a subjective question. (yes, the Barn Overlord moniker is earned) I said I'd give up TV because at least with a computer, I wouldn't HAVE to give up videos. But in Hypeyland, apparently computers have no DVD players. I'd still choose to give up TV.

Just as long as I could watch DVD's on my computer, I'd totally give up TV. I'm already cable-free, although I really miss Jon Stewart.

I'm w/ LJS - you can watch tv shows online and play dvds - and well - gotta use the computer at work and for school - so, sigh - tv it is.
