For the first time since Hyperion went into the Witness Protection Program I saw a movie on opening weekend (Well maybe not the first time but it's been a while). I'm not going to give a full review because Hyperion has a site devoted to movies and I'm sure he'd do a better job of it.
To give you a better understanding of what Glory Road was about it was sort of Hoosiers meets Remember the Titans. Basicaly the true story of a mostly black basketball team from Texas Western University(now UTEP) beating the all white team From the University of Kentucky to win the NCAA championship in the 1960's when racial relations were - well to put it lightly there was no such term as 'racial relations'. Overall not a bad movie and pretty good acting. They were very kind in their portrayal of Adolph Rupp (John Voight) who many accused of being racist. What really got me is that when UTW beat Kentucky everyone in the theater clapped - didn't they see this coming? I mean it is a true story they should already have known the ending.
My movie ratings differ from Hyperion's ratings. I use a simple method of rating movies:
- Pay Full Price - very good movie pay ful price to see it in the theater
- Pay Matinee Price - not bad but not worth $8.50
- Rent It - self explanitory
- Don't Waste Your Time - See From Justin to Kelly
Glory Road Rating - Pay Matinee Price

i like your rating system - good goig koz
I like your rating system too. As dominique would say, "Good Goig!"
That should become our new default term for approbation.
Oh, and you're suprised people didn't know about a basketball game played 40 years ago? Most people can't tell you who lost the Super Bowl two years ago, and that was watched by 1 billion people. I'm just happy they made a movie about it in the first place.
