Ok here's a question for the nation: How long after January 1st is it acceptable to wish someone a "Happy New Year"? I mean is January 2nd the last possible day to do it without ridicule. Maybe the first time you see/talk to the person in the new year it's acceptable? But what if you don't see or talk to them until July?

the first time you see a person in the first week, maybe two of the new year - after that, you should've emailed, im'ed, or called - if not, you don't really care, do you?
